The media and pornography industry show us perfect bodies. However, these flawless bodies are carefully selected and become the standard for how all bodies should look.
This becomes a cause of considerable stress and anxiety for many. Comparing our bodies with what we see on television or in porn can affect our self-esteem and quality of our relationships.
For example, many men feel their penises aren't big enough. Several women worry that their vaginas might be too big or too small and not ‘normal’ or that their breasts aren't the right shape or size.
When we learn about the body and sex organs we realize the sheer variety that exists and how there's no 'normal' or 'perfect'. This in turn positively impacts our mental well-being.
