There are two ways to view career mobility.
The first is intentional or voluntary. This is when we choose to move within the same company or to a new organization, for a promotion or even a lateral move into a new function. Or it could involve a step down for a new career path or even entrepreneurship.
The second is forced mobility, when an employer decides to restructure or layoff employees.
Both are a reality of today's fast evolving market. And they both require transferable skills to survive in today's world of work..
