We have industry-specific skills that enable us to operate in a certain domain. Beyond those skills, there are certain other capabilities which are relevant no matter what we choose to do.
These can help us succeed at work in a different industry, in our personal lives, or even if we start a business. They can be transferred from one situation or context to another. Hence the term transferable skills. Examples of some transferable skills are:
sales, negotiation, written and verbal communication, relationship building, reliability, leadership, project management, customer service, time management, teamwork, research skills
