A very common belief is that there are positive and negative emotions, and that we need to embrace and enhance our positive emotions and suppress the negative ones.
Sure some emotions are unpleasant and not desirable, but they are still important and can help us learn more about our situation and ourselves.
It's hence important to understand that all our emotions are valid; regulating them is key to more fruitful outcomes.
For instance, instead of suppressing unpleasant emotions, we should try to introspect and reflect on what they are telling us about the situation and our thought-process regarding the same.
