Self-acceptance is understanding and recognizing one’s abilities and limitations. When we don’t accept ourselves, we lose the power to embrace every part of our true identity. We don’t feel good about ourselves. Or we feel like we need to hide certain parts of ourselves.

This most often leads to feelings of guilt and shame, which is fertile ground for mental health issues.

We need to understand and imbibe the fact that nobody is perfect; this really is the basis of self-acceptance. Accepting ourselves is the foundation of a happy and peaceful life.
